As you can see from the screenshots the player in this part is in a undercover mission to find out what is really going on at this base that according to the US goverment dosn't exist! ok busy mapping so I have to shoot... more to come soon Craig 2nd April 2011 Hey everyone, Sorry for the delay in updating the site I have been flat out mapping as of late (whats new).. In this update I have released some shots showing a very snowy map based in Alaska.. The size of the map takes the complete space up in the editor ‘Hammer' (the tool I use to crete maps) so its a first for me creating a map so large and still getting it to run smooth lol. Anyways I hope you enjoy the shots. Craig The Gate II 14th October 2010 Hi there, please find in this News update some screen shots of the La Rochelle U-boat base in Northern France that I have been recently mapping. Amongst the Screen shots is a shot showing the 'Cinematic Physics' implemented in the roof of the U boat pen that had just been bombed by the American air force. A video of this ‘Cinematic Physics' has been uploaded to the Mod Database Profile for The Gate II. Also by joining Mod Data Base and selecting ‘The Gate II' as a watched mod you will be able to stay up to date on the latest media releases as everytime I release new media you will be personaly emailed and told! So what are you waiting for? Get over there and join. The 'Cinematic Physics' is the latest effect to display explosions or complex animations or events rather than doing it by the more conventional brush/hammer method, The effects are truly stunning using this method and really bring to life the bombing. In this update there is lots of screenshots to show you from various locations recently created. The bulk of these are set in the secret German V2 base Peenemunde.. The V2 base maps are nearly complete and when done so no more ww2 German maps I ever create again! I had my bag full creating the Gate 1 which was entirely ww2 so to map and create something different will feel great I just know it ! All these Screenshots have been added to the media page! After a long wait (around a year) I've finally got my self a new computer so mapping has commenced at long last. This update we have some sad news, The Gate II's head modeler isn't with us anymore... and he has decided to leave The Gate II team as he has other more important things to spend his time on i.e.. God... His work will be surely missed... Kurt's that is not God's. We wish him the best for the future... No worries though we are already trialing 3 other modelers so fingers crossed there up to speed... and there work is up to the excellent quality work that our old modeler had!...If you have modeling skills then please free to drop either me or Jason a line and we will see how good u really are! I'm currently working hard to finish the last map I've been working on and early shots and trial runs of it are going great... I will get some screenshots up hopefully in a week or so..When its more complete... One thing I learned from Gate 1 was that 90% of people online aren't the people they say they are! And it is genuinely hard to find good quality workers that will stay the distance. Mods Unfortunately do take a long time to make and probably 90% never get finished which is a shame as most of them get scrapped due to either lack of interest by the public or lack of lasting commitment by the team members...So much mapping talent and work wasted....
